We Can Support Your Independence In and Around Your Home.

This is a subsidized service that will be based on the client’s income. Some services are free of charge. Clients are required to purchase the material for the task (i.e., purchase the smoke detector and batteries that ILS will install). Details are outlined to the client in their Service Agreement. Call 705-737-3263 to inquire.

ILS offers this service on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The client’s Service Agreement will outline the requested services and frequency for the services. Some services may be a one-time request, while others may be required more regularly.

People interested in obtaining these services from ILS for themselves or a loved one must call ILS at (705) 737-3263 to apply. They will be required to complete a Service Agreement and provide a copy of their most recent Tax Assessment to determine eligibility for subsidized services. Once a task is scheduled:

  • ILS will provide the required tools and labour for the assigned task(s).
  • Clients are required to supply their own materials. For example, if ILS is installing a smoke detector, ILS will provide the ladder and screwdriver and do the work while the client will supply the smoke detector and batteries. ILS does not shop for the materials required by the client.
  • Clients are asked to complete an evaluation card before the Maintenance Technician leaves. We appreciate your feedback!
